Who is MCE?MCE provides energy for nearly 600,000 homes and businesses across Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, and Solano Counties, offering more renewable energy and reinvesting in local communities through energy programs, projects, and workforce opportunities.
As a local government agency, MCE is governed by a board of elected officials from the communities it serves and is regulated by the same agencies that oversee PG&E. Soon, Hercules residents can choose between PG&E or MCE as their energy provider. This change, approved by the City Council and the California Public Utilities Commission, means MCE’s lower rates and cleaner energy will help residents save money and reduce their carbon footprint.
Will I recieve enrollment notices? All Hercules customers will receive direct mail from MCE in February. Customers who have an email address on file with PG&E will then receive follow-up notification emails in March, April, and May. No action is required unless you wish to opt out of MCE and switch back to PG&E. Contact MCE at info@mceCleanEnergy.org or (888) 632-3674 for more information about this process. There is no charge for opting out of MCE before or within the first 60 days of service. |
